If you’re familiar with The Shops at Hilltop in Virginia Beach, you’ve probably seen stylish individuals coming and going through the storefront at The Collective. This carefully curated boutique filled with comfy and cute athleisure wear from Lindsay Bangel’s brand, LABL, and casually luxurious items from owner of Contravan, Tommi Long, is not a shopping-stop to miss. Think minimalist light fixtures, long wooden tables, light, airy walls, and racks filled with sophisticated pieces that dress you for your early morning trip to the gym all the way to late night drinks with your closest friends.
Four years ago while residing in New York City, Lindsay made her idea of creating a space where fashionable activewear was accessible to the Hampton Roads area a reality. Inspired by frequenting group fitness classes in the city, she felt empowered to exercise when wearing her favorite yoga pants and workout crop-top. Feel-good fashion fueled the concept of LABL, a brand offering what her hometown community had been asking for: items that let them confidently (and comfortably) sweat in style.
Lindsay left her careers in PR and early childhood education to pursue building LABL which began as a traveling popup between local fitness studios until finding a home in its now permanent retail space. As the brand has grown, so has its involvement in the community. From working with local charities to partner on shopping events for a cause to hosting LABL Moves fitness classes highlighting talented instructors in the Virginia Beach area, the brand has extended beyond its super stylish staples. Stay tuned for what’s to come in the way of trends and product drops, swing by the store to find your next must-have knit hoodie, or sweat with us at LABL Moves events to see what we’re all about!
